I love being near these hardworking people of the waterfront, hearing the sounds and smelling the sea. Mostly I love the beauty of the colors that punctuate the scene: the buoys, the cages, the ropes, the weathered buildings, the skies and water reflections. I know this world is precious, that each year brings more and more issues that make a lobstering and fishing way of life difficult and unsustainable for some. I salute you, men and women of the waterfront and those who support them. I paint plain-aire (outdoor) paintings when on location. Most of these may be seen on Daily Paintworks. Recently added are most of the paintings from my 2016 exhibit “Color on the Wharf”.
